S30’s dedicated zones are larger than the majority of our competitors. We review key census data to map out strategic territories to ensure you have a sizeable opportunity at building a profitable franchise.

To own a successful S30, all you need is a strong can-do attitude, you have drive and work ethic, you follow the S30 systems, policies and manuals. With this in mind, business experience is helpful but no where near essential. Sticking to our guidelines and working as a team with HQ will allow you to achieve success in your franchise.

Our pre-opening courses taught at S30 Academy training teach you the in-studio experience, while sales and marketing training enable you to manage and grow your S30 studio. Everything you need to start your business is in hand.

Opening a S30 can range from $250,000 - $290,000+GST investment. This includes all start up costs, fit out costs and franchise fees. The main difference in the range primarily depends on the fit-out. For example, if the location is a cold shell (e.g. no bathrooms and requires demolition) it may cost more. If it has bathrooms and is a simple fit-out it may cost less.

You certainly do not have to be a fitness trainer to run a successful S30 Studio. If you have great management and people skills, thrive working in teams, you can motivate your staff and keep them accountable to delivering the S30 product, you certainly have what it takes to build and run a successful S30 franchise. To this end, we recommend an owner-operator model or an owner who can dedicate at a minimum 20 hours per week to the business, but ideally 40.

People are key to the success of S30. So if you can acquire trainers with great attitudes, a strong willingness to follow process and continue to learn the S30 way, you’re onto a winner. S30 provides access for all your trainers to complete our onboarding portal, in the lead up to the S30 Academy. This is mandatory in setting the scene for trainers, before HQ conducts a two day training weekend. This is then followed by in-studio training sessions a week before your studio opens, where your trainers will be scored on all things S30. Our rigorous training systems ensure your studio opens with a fully equipped team that understands everything we do.

Once your S30 is open, S30’s head trainer will spend 90 minutes per week with your team ensuring they get into rhythm of maintaining a successful business in- and out-side the studio. This includes regularly running through activities including CRM management, sales skills and marketing, for the 8 weeks following the studio open.

The franchise fee gives you the right to enter and leverage the S30 brand, the right to use all of our systems, processes and policies. As a S30 franchise owner, get access to our franchise IP, technology and franchise operating manuals to operate and deliver the S30 experience.

This fee covers the support and maintenance delivered by S30 HQ and updates to our policies and systems that are then passed to you for use. The licence fee also covers the ongoing support you get from HQ along with things such as the development HQ-led marketing campaigns, new content such as class videos and marketing collateral, as well as the programming of daily workouts. This fee also covers upskilling trainers to ensure we continue to develop the S30 workout, as well as the continuous updating and enhancement of S30’s proprietary technology.

We estimate the timeline to be 4-6 months from franchise agreement signing to doors open. Our onboarding specialist will keep you accountable to your key pre-opening milestones within out set-up framework. Our fool-proof system shows you where and what you need to complete every week up until you open so you don’t feel overwhelmed by the process.

While our studios may look super cool and extravagant, they are actually pretty straight forward and take around 3-5 weeks to build full time, or 6-8 weeks part time. We have worked tirelessly with suppliers to get the best possible prices on high-quality commercial grade equipment, industry leading lighting technology and a strong list of fit-out contractors who are efficient and transparent with pricing and deliverables. Our suppliers have experience in building S30 studios and with enough planning in place are available to deliver efficiently in line with timeframes. Mandatory suppliers are appointed for equipment, as all S30 equipment is branded and comes in a pack that is designed for the S30 format. Franchises must also use our lighting and AV suppliers for our music and lighting technology. You are however welcome to use any of your own suppliers to build the studio with our approval.

Our fit-out manual is really easy to follow and has everything you need to build your studio.e strongly encourage you to manage the build and fit-out of smaller, easier items such as painting walls, applying posters and sourcing building equipment. However, you will need a professional to build the bathrooms (if needed), install lighting, power and AV as well as your mandatory S30 concrete desk. We have a long list of S30 suppliers that can assist in your build.

As soon as the franchise pack is executed, our property team takes over to source a list of suitable locations in the preferred zone, as well as the surrounding zones (if they are available), to best provide you with the most suitable S30 locations currently available in the market. As part of this, we will provide you with analysis on the zone and present commercial terms in comparison to other S30s and leases in the market. From there you will seek advice as to signing the lease

Depending on what zone your studio is in you may require a development application (DA), change of use or CDC permit. Our internal team will assess your lease prior to signing so that we can best establish the council requirements to get your studio compliant prior to opening. We have extensive experience in this area and will assist you along the way. Depending on what requirements are mandated by authorities, this process may take between 2 - 16 weeks.
